Dr. Steven P. LaRosa graduated from Boston University School of Medicine. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency at the Cleveland Clinic and Infectious Disease Fellowship at Massachusetts General Hospital. He was the lead Clinical Research Physician at Eli Lilly for the PROWESS trial that led to the FDA approval of Xigris for severe sepsis. He returned to academia as the Director of the Ocean State Clinical Coordinating Center at Rhode Island Hospital. In this position he partnered with industry sponsors in clinical development planning, protocol and case report form design, site selection and training, medical monitoring and data review for molecules and devices targeting severe infections. He currently serves on a number of Medical Advisory Boards, Clinical Trial Steering Committees, Endpoint Adjudication Committees and Data Safety Monitoring Boards for experimental agents, devices, and diagnostics in Infectious Disease.
