Dana Peres Edelson, MD, MS

Dr. Edelson is a physician scientist and Executive Medical Director for Rescue Care and Resiliency at the University of Chicago. She is a nationally recognized expert of in-hospital cardiac arrest and rapid response systems, with a focus on harnessing big data analytics and innovative technology to identify subtle changes in clinical stability and integrate them into clinical workflows to prevent failure to rescue. Her work has been published in high-profile journals such as JAMA, Circulation, and the American Journal of Respiratory and Critical Medicine and has been cited over 10,000 times. Dr. Edelson is the Co-Founder and President of AgileMD and was named by Becker’s Hospital Review as one of the Women in Medtech to Know. Additionally, she currently serves as the Chair of the American Heart Association Get With the Guidelines Resuscitation Adult Research Task Force.

Benjamin Bodnar, MD

Assistant Professor of Medicine & Pediatrics, Johns Hopkins School of Medicine

Dr. Bodnar is was born and raised in Baltimore, and after training in institutions across the country and working at sites around the world, he returned to work in his home town. He received his undergraduate degree from Stanford University, his medical degree from Columbia University, and completed his specialty training at Yale New Haven Hospital. He also worked at Brigham and Women’s Hospital in Boston, Massachusetts, and held the appointment of Instructor in Medicine at Harvard Medical School prior to his return to Johns Hopkins in 2016. He is board certified in Internal Medicine as well as Pediatrics, and continues to practice clinically as a hospitalist in internal medicine and pediatrics. He has a special interest in Quality Improvement, including the application of Quality Improvement techniques in resource-limited and developing healthcare environments. He has most recently led the development of clinical care and discharge guidelines for the care of Adult Non-ICU COVID patients, which have been implemented across all Johns Hopkins Medicine hospitals using the AgileMD tool – an EMR-integrated clinical decision support tool.

Nicole Kupchik, MN, RN, CCNS, CCRN-K, PCCN-K

Critical Care Clinical Nurse Specialist & Educator, Nicole Kupchik Consulting

Nicole is a national and international speaker on several emergency and critical care topics. A critical care nurse for over 25 years, she earned a Nursing degree from Purdue University and a Master of Nursing from University of Washington. Nicole has taught CCRN and PCCN certification review courses for over 12 years, authored numerous publications, and launched programs including Sepsis and Post Cardiac Arrest Hypothermia (TTM) and Quality Improvement in Resuscitation. She is host of a Resuscitation podcast and YouTube show. Nicole recently published the “You Can Do It” book series, including Ace the CCRN, Ace the PCCN, Ace the CMC and Ace the CSC, as well as “You Can Do It” study guides and practice question books for each exam. She has won national awards including “Nurse of the Year” for Advancing the Nursing Profession by the March of Dimes. In 2018, she was nominated for the Sepsis Alliance “Sepsis Hero” Award for her extensive work in educating healthcare professionals about sepsis.
