Sponsored Session: Early Sepsis Detection Utilizing Continuous Vital Sign Monitoring

Session Description:

Sponsored by Sotera Digital Health

Medical-surgical units are too often understaffed and overwhelmed with basic patient care tasks, which can put patients more at risk for developing hospital-acquired infections and sepsis. These patients are also more likely to be missed when experiencing the catastrophic deterioration that occurs with the development of sepsis. In this sponsored session, learners will discover how continuous surveillance monitoring of all major vital signs (HR, RR, SpO2, and blood pressure) can offer a safety net for overwhelmed and understaffed nursing units. Learners will also review how early notification of patient deterioration can prevent failure to rescue.

This session was originally recorded in September 2022 as part of Sepsis Alliance Summit.

Target Audience

Nurses, advanced practice providers, physicians, emergency responders, pharmacists, medical technologists, respiratory therapists, physical/occupational therapists, infection prevention specialists, data/quality specialists, and more.

Sepsis Alliance gratefully acknowledges the support provided for this session by Sotera Digital Health.
