Webinar - "Recognizing Pediatric Sepsis: Through the Eyes of Patients & Families", Jointly Presented by Sepsis Alliance and CHA
Webinar Description:
Join us for a special Sepsis Webinar Series presentation as we celebrate Pediatric Sepsis Week in partnership with Children's Hospital Association. The webinar, Recognizing Pediatric Sepsis: Through the Eyes of Patients & Families, will focus on the patient and family experience of this life-threatening condition. More than 75,000 children develop severe sepsis each year in the U.S. and nearly 7,000 of them die.
Learn more about early sepsis recognition for patients and families from this webinar presented through multiple perspectives. First will be Rowan’s story about a child who between the ages of one and three, survived sepsis not once but twice, as told by her mother Kate Holler. Next, two nurse leaders, Cathryn Jordan and Nora Raynor from Atrium Health Levine Children’s Hospital, will share their successful initiative to educate pediatric cancer patients and their families about early sepsis recognition. The webinar will conclude with a presentation from Sepsis Alliance, the leading sepsis organization in the United States. Sepsis education expert Hannah Eichelberger will provide an overview of the many resources Sepsis Alliance has created with patients and families in mind.
Target Audience
Nurses, physician assistants, physicians, emergency responders, physical therapists, patient care assistants, and other healthcare staff
